Drug Overdoses Spike In New Haven
The city saw a heightened number of drug overdoses reported over the weekend.
NEW HAVEN, CT — The city has seen a spike in drug overdoses in recent days, according to The New Haven Register. City officials said there were 21 overdoses from 6:30 a.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officials consider any number of overdoses greater than 12 in a 24-hour period to be a spike and reason for heightened alert. The recent overdoses are potentially heroin laced with fentanyl, The Register reported.
