With 'Education, Workforce Rapidly Shaped By AI,' SCSU Hosts Conference To Explore Ethics, Opportunities
Discussion includes Southern and Central CT state universities, Quinnipiac University, University of New Haven faculty leaders, researchers.
NEW HAVEN, CT —Southern Connecticut State University is hosting a full-day conference as part of its 2025–2026 Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Series. The assembly brings together faculty, scholars, and higher education leaders to examine the ethical and pedagogical challenges—and opportunities—posed by Generative AI in higher education.
The event will explore how universities can responsibly integrate GenAI into teaching, learning, and curriculum design, while preparing students for a workforce increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.
The conference is set for Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at SCSU's Adanti Student Center Ballroom, 501 Crescent St., in New Haven.

The program is a discussion on the Role of the University in the Age of AI: Ethical and Pedagogical Challenges and Opportunities. An immersive, full-day faculty development event, it will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, and a poster session focused on the impact of Generative AI on higher education. Topics include AI ethics, student preparedness, inclusive pedagogy, curriculum design, and responsible innovation.
The keynote speakers and panelists include faculty panelists and researchers from Central Connecticut State University, Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticut State University, and the University of New Haven.
According to SCSU, "As Generative AI rapidly transforms education and the workforce, this conference aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and equip educators with practical strategies to navigate ethical considerations, enhance teaching and learning, and prepare students for an AI-driven future."
