Body Pulled from Quinnipiac River in New Haven: Update
A body was reportedly sighted near the Grand Avenue Bridge.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Police, fire and Coast Guard officials pulled a body from the Quinnipiac River Tuesday afternoon near the Grand Avenue Bridge.
The deceased man's body was located adjacent to Pierpont and Front streets, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
Police suspect they know the man's identity, but are investigating missing persons reports. His identity will be released when it is confirmed.

"There is no indication when, where or how he ended up in the water," Hartman said, "Detectives are treating this as a potential crime, although there is no indication one way or another."
He is described as a white male likely in his 50's. He has a pale complexion and unkempt grey and light brown facial hair.

"He was wearing camouflaged long pants, an olive drab jacket over a solid green t-shirt, grey and brown Starter brand sneakers and grey hospital style socks," Hartman said. "He has a noticeable scar on his sternum – likely from a surgery some time ago."
Fingerprints were collected from the body and the body will undergo an autopsy at the Medical Examiner's office.
