West Haven Man, 68, Victim In Fatal 1-Car Crash At Fort Hale Park: PD

NEW HAVEN, CT — Early Saturday night, police were called to Fort Hale park to investigate a fatal crash involving a single vehicle, New Haven police spokesperson Rose Dell said. They found the front end of a Toyota Tundra abutted against a wooden guard rail on Woodward Avenue across the street from the entrance to the park, she said.
The driver, identified as 68-year-old Kevin Gormley of West Haven, was pronounced deceased on the scene by firefighters, Dell said.
Investigators from the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner took custody of Gormley to perform an autopsy, Dell said.

The New Haven Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is handling the case. Dell said investigators will be analyzing evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine the sequence of events that led to this crash.
