Felon Pleads Guilty to New Haven Gun Charge

The man has been convicted on 11 previous felony counts.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city man and previously convicted felon pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm.

Terence Garrett, 46, became the target of police investigation after investigators got a tip that he was selling heroin out of a Shelton Avenue apartment and possessed a firearm, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

Law enforcement seized a .25 caliber pistol in October 2016 loaded with fire rounds along with 12 bags of heroin and a digital scale.

Garrett has been convicted on 11 felonies, including a total of four convictions for firearm-related offenses.

He faces a maximum prison term of 10 years.
