Ferry Street Bridge Closed From 9 AM to 4 PM Wednesday: Police
The bridge will be shuttered so a sensor, which officials said has caused closures, can be replaced, according to New Haven police.

NEW HAVEN, CT —The Ferry Street Bascule Bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to "change a sensor that has caused previous closures," according to New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway.
"The new sensor is intended to be more reliable," he said, adding folks should "avoid the area tomorrow during those hours."
As announced last summer by the Connecticut Department of Transportation, the $3 million bridge rehab projectconsisted of bridge deck replacement, repairs to substructures, replacement of the existing bearings and steel stringers, and repairs to the bridge steel truss members, among other repairs.
