Ferry Street Car Vs. Dirt Bike Crash Leaves Rider Critical: PD

Tuesday night, a 27-year-old New Haven man on a dirt bike was involved in a crash with a car. He's listed in critical condition, police say.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 27-year-old New Haven man is in critical condition after a dirt bike and car crash on Ferry Street near the entrance to Interstate-91 north Tuesday night, police said.

At around 8:15 p.m., police responded to the crash site between Middletown Avenue and the entrance to the highway and found the dirt bike rider "unresponsive in the street," New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway said. American Medical Response took the man to Yale New Haven Hospital where he is listed in critical condition, he said.

The New Haven Police Crash Investigation Team is investigating. The operator of the other vehicle involved remained on-scene and is cooperating with investigators, Shumway said.
