Fire, Police Trunk-Or-Treat, And Battle Of Badges Game, Postponed

Given bad weather is forecasted for Saturday, the Halloween event and flag football game is postponed, but fear not, it'll be rescheduled.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The planned New Haven police and fire departments' Trunk or Treat and “Battle of the Badges” flag football game scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 30 has been postponed, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said, because of forecasted inclement weather. There will be a make-up date announced soon, he said.

Originally, Police Chief Renee Dominguez and the New Haven Police Department were to be joined by Fire Chief John Alston and the New Haven Fire Department to host a Trunk or Treat event at Winslow Augustine Field in Westville Saturday.

The family-friendly event was designed so that everyone can trick-or-treat in a safe setting and have the opportunity to mingle with your neighborhood police officers and firefighters. The 'Battle of the Badges' flag football game was to follow the Halloween event.
