Fuse Theatre of CT Presents Rescheduled Production of Jason Robert Brown's Songs For A New World

New Haven - FUSE Theatre of CT presents Jason Robert Brown’s musical Songs For A New World on January 6, 7, 14 and 15 at Bregamos Theater in New Haven, CT. The first show from Tony-winning composer Brown (The Last Five Years, Bridges of Madison County, Parade, 13, Mr. Saturday Night), Songs is a beloved song-cycle that introduces the audience to a wide variety of characters — from a political prisoner to a scorned socialite, a promising basketball star to the worried mother of a missing soldier — each facing scary and exhilarating crossroads in their life. Featuring a “small, powerhouse adult cast and a driving, exquisitely crafted score,” Songs is the perfect way to end FUSE’s first in-person season.

Songs For A New World will be performed Friday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, January 7 at 3:00 p.m., Saturday January 14 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, January 15 at 3:00 p.m. Performances take place at Bregamos Theater, 491 Blatchley Ave, New Haven, CT. Tickets are $22, general admission. For both the Saturday and Sunday matinees, $15 student and senior tickets are available. The venue is handicap accessible. Masks will be required for all audience members. This production was originally set to be performed in November but was unfortunately rescheduled due to illness within the company. Existing tickets will be honored, and all current ticketholders should have received an email about how to select new dates. FUSE Theatre of CT’s production of Songs For A New World features music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown. Songs For A New World is directed by Noah Golden, produced by Lara Morton and Elizabeth Santaus. Aron J. Smith serves as musical director with Camille Fortin as stage manager and Matt Durland playing piano. The cast includes Amber Emerson (of Branford, CT), Tiessa Hills (of New Haven, CT), Susan Kulp (of North Haven, CT), Brian Meltzer (of Wilton, CT), Kelsey Mulligan (of Branford, CT), and Ty Scurry (of New Haven, CT). Songs For A New World was originally produced by the WPA Theatre, New York City, 1995 (Kyle Renick, Artistic Director) with original orchestration by Brian Besterman and Jason Robert Brown.
