Hamden Drug Dealer Pleads Guilty To Money Laundering

He sold pills that were used by a victim who is now in a vegetative state.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden man pleaded guilty to money laundering and drug distribution in federal court Wednesday.

Wayne Bradbury, 32, faces up to 60 years in prison for distributing oxycodone and marijuana to a person under the age of 21 and money laundering.

A 22-year-old male purchased 30 40-milligram oxycodone pills from Tahir Farid for $900, according to the U.S. Attorney District of Connecticut office.

The 22-year-old male consumed the pills and other substances and was found unresponsive at a friend's house in Weston Jan. 5, 2016. He remains in a persistent vegetative state.

Investigation revealed that Bradbury supplied pills and marijuana to Ryan Looney, who was 19-years-old at the time. Looney sold the pills to Farid, according to the office.

Bradbury had Looeny repay him by depositing cash into his bank account, which would then be withdrawn by Bradbury to pay his supplier.

Farid was sentenced to six months imprisonment and Looney has pleaded guilty and awaits sentencing.
