Hamden Man Killed In New Haven Shooting: Reports

Authorities said the 25-year-old man died following the shooting that happened around 4:20 a.m. Saturday morning.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A Hamden man died in an early-morning shooting in New Haven on Saturday, according to multiple reports citing police.

The shooting happened shortly before 4:20 a.m. on Fairmont Avenue between East Ferry Street and Lancraft Street, New Haven police spokesperson Officer Christian Bruckhart said in a news release obtained by the New Haven Register. Officers arrived at the location after hearing several gunshots, reports said.

According to an NBC Connecticut report, officers found evidence of a shooting but learned the 25-year-old victim had been driven to a nearby hospital.

Investigators went to Yale New Haven Hospital and arrived at the same time as the victim, who later died from his injuries, reports said.

Authorities did not release the victim's name pending notification of family.
