Here's How Iconic New Haven Restaurants Respond To Virus

While the state has ordered restaurants, bars, and other businesses to close, your favorite restaurants may be offering takeout options.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Gov. New Lamont recently joined other states in ordering that all restaurants, bars, and casinos will need to close to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. However, many restaurants will continue to offer takeout and delivery options.

Two of those are classic New Haven restaurants. Old-fashioned hamburger joint Louis' Lunch said they will be offering to-go orders.

The following was posted on the restaurant's Facebook page: "I want to assure all of our customers that their comfort and safety is our top priority. I have always and will continue to adhere to a strict sanitization policy. I am closely monitoring all of our employees and vendors ensuring everyone understands the importance of monitoring their health and wellness...

"We will all get through these changing difficult times and support this amazing city we call home! In that spirit, we all need to eat, especially in times of need. To help alleviate some stress, we will be offering orders to go. Customers can call and place an order for pick up at 203-562-5507 during normal hours."

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana made a similar announcement on social media that takeout orders would be offered.

"Call in to pick up your favorite Pepe's pies today! Whether its our Veggie Special or Amanti Della Carne pie, we are ready to serve you!

"Take out is available at all of our locations and select stores are available for online ordering please check out our website for more information!"
