NEW HAVEN, CT – The impact of Hurricane Harvey on gas prices in Connecticut is already being felt. The hurricane hit the country’s oil industry hard, as up to one-third of the oil rigs are located in the path of the hurricane.
Oil experts have estimated the cost of gasoline could go up 10 to 20 cents a gallon across the country due to the hurricane’s destruction of the rigs.

That impact is already being felt in New Haven area. The popular Forbes gas station, which is always full of cars, was especially busy Wednesday morning.
The prices of gas at Forbes was 6 cents higher per gallon on Wednesday morning than it was two days earlier on Monday morning.
