Iconic New Haven Restaurant To Be Open 7 Days A Week

And the restaurant will be giving away free pizza to celebrate.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Sally's Apizza might be a historic, classic restaurant, but they're not afraid to change things up. The Wooster Street eatery will now be open seven days a week as of today, Monday, Oct. 7, according to WTNH.

Sally's has been closed on Mondays and Tuesdays for many years. They'll also be open at 11:30 a.m. for lunch.

To celebrate the change, they're giving away free pizza to everyone on Monday. Then on Tuesday, those who live, work, or go to school in New Haven can get free pizza, WTNH reported.

Sally's has consistently been ranked as one of the best pizzerias in the state and the country. It landed number eight on the Daily Meal's list of best pizza in America for 2017. Fellow New Haven pizzerias Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana and Modern Apizza ranked number one and three respectively.

The pizzeria is more than eight decades old and Rick Consiglio, son of Sal "Sally" Consiglio, said that "We're busier than we've ever been," according to The Hartford Courant. Demand for being open seven days a week has only increased recently.
