IKEA New Haven Donates $5K In Home Furnishings For Youth Shelter
IKEA, celebrating 18 years in New Haven, donations included bedding. cookware to Y2Y/Youth Continuum, a youth-based city homeless shelter.

NEW HAVEN, CT —IKEA New Haven donated more than $5,000 in home furnishings to Y2Y/Youth Continuum, a youth-based homeless shelter in the city.
IKEA New Haven just celebrated its 18th anniversary, July 24.
“IKEA believes that home is the most important place in the world," Ashley Beecroft, IKEA New Haven Market manager, said. "For those who are at risk and find their home, even temporarily, at shelters within their communities, IKEA strives to provide some support to help make their stay a bit more comfortable.”

The donation from IKEA was made based on a wish list that Y2Y/Youth Continuum was asked to put together. Items included towels, sheet sets, pillows, throws, dinnerware, cookware sets and more.
Paul Kosowsky, CEO of Youth Continuum, said IKEA has been an "amazing corporate partner in our efforts to end youth homelessness in the Greater New Haven area."

“Youth Continuum, in partnership with Y2Y Network, is thrilled to receive this generous support and donation from IKEA." he said."It is only through local community support that such tragic situations can be quickly addressed so that homeless young people get the help they so desperately need. We are very grateful to IKEA for their many years of support for this program.”
The store's loyalty manager Jeff Zeitlin said IKEA "commends Y2Y/Youth Continuum with their focus on youth homelessness here in our hometown of New Haven."
"We have worked with them in the past and continue to believe their mission is one that is so important to not just the individuals who benefit from their residence," he said. "but the youth that assist in running this great organization.”
