Issues Outside of Drug Treatment Facility Cause Concern

Police and others expressed concern about loitering and other issues outside the facility.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Loitering and reports of sexual acts, drug use and public urination around a drug addiction treatment facility at 495 Congress Ave. has police concerned.

Large crowds sometimes gather outside of the facility, which is used by people who live in and out of the city, according to the New Haven Register.

Officials at The APT Foundation that runs the facility said they have spoken with police and community officials about concerns and have increased staffing to encourage people to leave the area when treatment is finished.
