Judge To Decide If Man Has To Return To Prison After 12 Years
Demetrius Anderson was released from state prison 12 years ago and hasn't had any run-ins with the law since.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A New Haven man is no longer facing federal prison time after a court glitch caused him to walk out of state prison under the impression that he didn't have to serve a federal sentence.
Demetrius Anderson exited state prison in 2006 under the impression that he was serving a state and federal term concurrently. He was released from state prison, complied with parole and hasn't had any run-ins with the law since.
Things changed when U.S. Marshals came knocking on his door for not serving the federal sentence.
