NEW HAVEN, CT —Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years. July 4 is just just about here, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

What: Here's the bottom line about Independence Day fireworks on Monday, July 4 in the city of New Haven.

"If you can see the top of East Rock, you can see the fireworks," so says city Mayor Justin Elicker.
When, Where: New Haven’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration will begin just after 9 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. The official viewing site is at Wilbur Cross High School, 181 Mitchell Drive in New Haven.
The city’s media partners for the event are WTNH and WYBC.
WTNH will stream the event live, and a live TV broadcast can be viewed on WTNH, channel 9.
WYBC, 94.3, the "Rhythm of the City," supplies the music, and prizes.
“It should be a wonderful evening for the city, and residents will be able to enjoy the fireworks in-person or watch them on TV and online while listening to an inspiring soundtrack of music,” Elicker said.
But the party begins at 6 p.m. Pre-fireworks festivities will include music and food trucks at Wilbur Cross.
