Kavanaugh Questioned After New Haven Bar Fight In 1985
The Supreme Court nominee was questioned after a bar fight while a student at Yale University.

NEW HAVEN, CT — U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was questioned by New Haven Police after a 1985 incident at a local bar.
Kavanaugh along with four other men were questioned by police, according to the New York Times. Kavanaugh wasn't arrested, but another man accused him of throwing ice at him.
A witness told police that Kavanaugh's friend Chris Dudley threw a glass that hit a man. The incident happened at a bar named Demery's.

Kavanaugh's former classmate Chad Ludington said in a statement that Kavanaugh didn't tell the full truth about the extent of his drinking at Yale and said that he often became belligerence and aggressive while drinking. In one instance he threw beer in a man's face after a semi-hostile remark, which sparked a fight that ended with one of their friends in jail.
