King/Robinson Teacher Arrested After Pulling A Student's Hair: PD
Jennifer Wells-Jackson, 49, is alleged to have pulled a 12-year-old student by the hair. Facing two charges, she was released on $20K bond.
NEW HAVEN, CT — The arrest of a King/Robinson Interdistrict Magnet School teacher Tuesday afternoon was related to an assault at the school, police said.
Police were summoned to the Fournier Street school at 3:45 p.m. for a report of an assault.
In what New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway described as an "altercation," educator Jennifer Wells-Jackson, 49, is alleged to have pulled a 12-year-old student by the hair. The student did not report any serious injuries and declined medical attention, according to Shumway.

Wells-Jackson, of New Haven, was charged with second-degree breach of peace and risk of injury to a minor. She was released on a $20,000 bond.
Initially, New Haven Public Schools' spokesperson Justin Harmon said a school staff member's arrest was in connection with an "incident that posed risk to a minor."

"The district takes student safety very seriously," Harmon said, adding the school and district were "cooperating fully" with police.
