Update: Route 15 In New Haven Cleared

NEW HAVEN, CT — The right lane of Route 15 that was closed this morning in New Haven is now open, alleviating a potential traffic problem for Saturday motorists.

According to the state Department of Transportation, the closure was a result of some necessary, emergency maintenance work.

According to the DOT's Twitter feed, however, that work was complete and normal roadway operations resumed at about 10:16 a.m.

The situation was on the northbound side of the state highway, between exits 58 and 59, according to the DOT.

DOT officials estimated the situation wouldbe rectified within three hours, according to its traffic website post at 8:27 a.m.
