Liberty Bank Executives Serve Barbecue for Veterans

Month-Long Community Service Initiative Promotes Volunteerism and Giving

Nine members of the Liberty Bank Executive Management team, including President and CEO, Chandler Howard, hosted a cookout for veterans at Harkness House, an affiliate of Columbus House, during Liberty's month of giving in June. The crew was tasked with setting up tables and chairs for the picnic, preparing and cooking steaks, burgers, hot dogs, side salads, and chicken; and serving the lunch to a group of 30 veterans.

This project was part of a month-long initiative called "Liberty Lends a Hand," designed to encourage all Liberty Bank employees to get involved with community service, either through volunteering or conducting a collection for charity. At the end of the month, a total of 18 nonprofit agencies had benefitted from 940 volunteer hours from employees and 74 collections were held for goods to be donated to organizations in the bank's footprint.
