With the stakes high and no clear winner in sight, the judges turned to technical merit to make the final call.

"We extend our deepest appreciation to alumni judges Willie Pender, Joseph Thomas, and Christina Scilla-Rivera; and to the talented finalists:

  • Darrell Adote
  • Terence Okwuosa
  • Catt Schenfeld
  • Monica Wojcik

Your contributions have made this contest memorable," said Network Coordinator and Gateway Development Associate Victoria Dancy.

The Gateway Alumni Network is committed to supporting Gateway students’ journeys, during their academic years and beyond. Aleshka’s design symbolizes this enduring connection.

CT State Community College Gateway, Gateway Community College, South Central Community College and Greater New Haven State Technical College combined have, over the years, graduated some 30,000 individuals. Many live in the Greater New Haven area.

As Gateway merged to become the flagship campus of CT State Community College last summer, the Gateway Community College Foundation – Gateway’s most enthusiastic cheerleader – determined to make it a priority to reconnect and re-engage the alumni with current Gateway students and one another. They launched the Alumni Network. All former students are encouraged to join the Network which plans an informal get-together in early May at the New Haven Yacht Club.
