Man, 18, Shot In New Haven, Dropped At Hamden Fire House: Police

Sunday night around 9 p.m. police said they got a call about a shooting near Moore Drive. The victim from New Haven is in stable condition.

NEW HAVEN, CT —Sunday night, an 18-year-old from New Haven, shot in the area of Moore Drive, was "dropped off" at a Hamden fire house, police said.

Just before 9 p.m., New Haven police got a call about a shooting and learned that the victim, who had non-life threatening injures, was left at a fire station, according to New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway.

American Medical Response took him to Yale New Haven Hospital where he's listed in stable condition, Shumway said.

Police said the "crime scene" was located around Moore Drive, where ballistic evidence was found.

Shumway said detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.

Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
