Man, 23, Killed After Being Pulled Into Conveyor Belt at Middletown Ave. Trucking Business: Fire Chief

NEW HAVEN, CT — At around 1 p.m., New Haven fire and rescue were summoned to Anastasio Trucking, 158 Middletown Ave., for what Fire Chief Daniel Coughlin said was an industrial accident.

When first responders arrived, they found a 23-year-old man "who had been pulled into a conveyor belt," the chief said.

The man was pronounced dead "on scene," Coughlin said.

Coughlin said that both OSHA and the New Haven Police Department are investigating.
