Man, 30, Killed In Weekend Shooting, Homicide Probe Underway: PD
The New Haven man was shot on Hazel Street Sunday afternoon, and was pronounced dead at Yale New Haven Hospital, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT —A 30-year-old New Haven man was shot and killed on Hazel Street Sunday afternoon, police said.
Just before 4 p.m., New Haven police got a Shotspotter alert and 911 calls about gunfire on Hazel Street, between Shelton and Dixwell avenues, police spokesperson Scott Shumway said.
When police got there, they found the man had been struck by gunfire. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, Shumway said.

This is the 23rd homicide in the city so far this year.
Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with the Police contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
