Man Dies in New Haven Motorcycle Crash, Police Search for Fleeing Vehicle

Have you seen this vehicle? It was likely involved in a fatal hit-and-run, according to police.

NEW HAVEN, CT—An Oakville man died in a Saturday motor vehicle crash.

Police were dispatched to Whalley and Osborn avenues around 2:05 a.m. and found Gary Gulledge, 31, being attended by EMTs.

Witnesses had little information outside of seeing a silver SUV fleeing north on Osborn Street.

Officers reported seeing the same motorcycle and rider performing a wheelie on Whalley Avenue near Sherman Avenue about eight blocks away from the crash site, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

Gulledge was taken to the hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

The wanted vehicle is likely a 2003-2007 silver Acura MDX with damage to the passenger side, Hartman said. Investigators captured video and still footage from around the time of the crash.
