Man Found Guilty Of Burning Young Children's Hands On Stove: Court Officials
Court officials said a jury has found a New Haven man guilty of allegedly burning two young children's hands on a stove as punishment.

NEW HAVEN, CT - Court officials said a jury has found a New Haven man guilty of allegedly burning two young children's hands on a stove, the New Haven Register reported. The suspect allegedly burned the kids' hands as a form of punishment, officials said.
Michael Torres, 31, was found guilty Wednesday of assault, unlawful restraint and risk of injury to a minor, according to the New Haven Register. The young alleged victims were 4 and 8-years old when the incident occurred in August 2015. (To sign up for New Haven breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
Court officials said the victims and another young girl in the apartment at the time of the incident testified the suspect was angry at the victims for because one of them had opened a window, the New Haven Register reported. Torres testified that the children burned themselves accidentally.
