Man Found Guilty In Fatal New Haven Stabbing

He stabbed a man to death outside of a methadone clinic.

NEW HAVEN, CT — City man Daniel Streit was found guilty of first-degree manslaughter after a fatal stabbing outside of APT Foundation in 2017.

Streit stabbed Keith Wylie, 51, of New Haven to death. New Haven Police found Streit on another street and took him into custody after witnesses gave descriptions.

Streit claimed self-defense in the attack, according to the New Haven Register. He claimed he was afraid of Wylie attacking him after two previous fights.

He will face an additional charge of being a persistent felony offender that will be heard by a judge. If found guilty his prison sentence could be enhanced to 40 years.

A jury convicted Streit after nearly five hours of deliberation, according to the New Haven Independent. APT Foundation is a methadone clinic.
