Man Shot to Death in New Haven Identified

NEW HAVEN, CT—Police have identified the man found shot to death as Dontray Hammond of Plant Street in New Haven.

EMTs were dispatched to a basketball court behind 24 Victory Dr. on a report of a cardiac arrest victim 2:41 p.m., said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. They quickly learned the victim suffered a gunshot wound and police were dispatched.

The incident is being investigated as a probable homicide.
