Mayor Reappoints Fire Chief Alston Among Other City Officials

Mayor Justin Elicker announced 7 appointments to lead city departments for the next 4 years including engineering, parks, and youth & rec.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Mayor Justin Elicker is announced the re-appointments of seven city departments. These appointments are effective Feb. 1.

According to the city’s charter these appointments will serve a term from February 1st, 2022 – January 31st, 2026. The appointment of fire fhief is subject to Aldermanic confirmation.

And later this week, Elicker will announce new appointments to fill leadership roles in Labor Relations, City Plan, and Fair Rent.

“I’m excited to be announcing this leadership team,” Elicker said. “This is a group of hard-working and talented individuals bringing diverse backgrounds and expertise to the table. I’ve worked with many of them every day for the past two years. My vision for this city is for it to be a place where every resident can thrive – I’m confident these individuals share that vision and are dedicated to making it a reality.”
