Mayor, Superintendent Visit Schools' 2024 Science Fair Judging
A public viewing of the science projects by New Haven students is set for Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Floyd Little Athletic Center.
NEW HAVEN, CT —The New Haven school's 2024 Science Fair entries face judges Tuesday and the community is invited to check out the young scientists' work until 7 p.m. at Floyd Little Athletic Center at Hillhouse High School, 480 Sherman Parkway.
The goal of the Science Week program is to work with children and teachers from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 to help them carry out investigative hands-on science fair projects in order to promote skills in critical thinking, scientific process, and communication.
Each year, approximately 8,000 New Haven students participate in the science fair.

Earlier in the day, Mayor Justin Elicker and schools' Superintendent Dr. Madeline Negrón visited the Fair during the judging of student entries.
For Science Week, celebrated this week in New Haven Public Schools, the fair is held Tuesday and Wednesday. The awards ceremonies will be May 22 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Hillhouse auditorium.

The week culminates Friday at 10 a.m. with middle school students flying tetrahedron kites at East Rock Community Magnet School, 133 Nash St.
