NEW HAVEN — A gathering to honor a teen-aged homicide victim earlier this week deteriorated into another police incident, with New Haven police reporting a foot chase and gun arrest.

Officers were able to identify the person, who was a juvenile, and engaged in a short foot pursuit with the suspect.
New Haven police said the suspect threw a gun while running into a nearby apartment.
Ultimately, police apprehended the suspect and officers were able to find the 9 mm handgun that was discarded during the chase, police said.
Police did not identify the juvenile suspect because of his or her age, but the individual was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and interfering with police.
