NEW HAVEN, CT — National Public Health Week in New Haven kicked off this week, mirroring the national theme Public Health is Where You Are.
Observed the first full week of April every year, the New Haven Health Department scheduled events through April 10 which relate to the NPHW daily theme for each day. The daily themes include: accessibility, climate change, community, mental wellness, public health workforce, world health day, and racism.
Developed each year by the American Public Health Association, the national campaign educates the public, policymakers, and practitioners about issues related to each year's theme. The week is also dedicated to highlighting the contributions of public health and champions the role of strong public health systems.
