New Haven Bank Robbed

A man robbed a bank in New Haven Wednesday.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a bank robbery suspect in New Haven.

The Bank of America on Sargent Drive was robbed Wednesday around 12:30 p.m. The robber handed a bank teller a note, acted as if he had a weapon and left with an undisclosed amount of money, said Capt. Anthony Duff, police spokesman.

He left in a minivan that was found on Rosette Street a short time later.

On Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at 12:34 p.m., New Haven police officers responded to a bank robbery of a Bank of America branch at 250 Sargent Drive. Officers were told a man handed a bank teller a robbery note, acted as if he had a weapon, and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber left the bank driving a minivan which New Haven Police recovered a short time later on Rosette Street in the Hill neighborhood.

The robber was last seen wearing a blue tee shirt and gray sweater.

The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a $500 reward.
