New Haven Chalk Art Festival Date Scheduled

4th Annual New Haven Chalk Art FestivalSaturday, October 19, 12-4pm

New Haven, CT – The Shops at Yale is excited to announce the return of its family friendly Annual NewHaven Chalk Art Festival on Saturday, October 19th, from 12-4pm. Participate as an artist or watch as chalk masterpieces are created before your very eyes by amateur and professional artists of all ages and skill levels at Broadway Island, 56 Broadway and on the patio in front of the Yale University ArtGallery, 1111 Chapel Street. Categories include Teens (13-17 years old), Adults (18 years or older) andAdult Groups (two or more artists with at least one 18 years or older). Winners will be chosen by are presentative from Paier College of Art and by a People's Choice voting system. Everyone who votes will automatically be entered to win a $100 gift card to South Bay Restaurant. Artists are encouraged to use a “fall theme”.

The New Haven Chalk Art Festival will also feature a Kids Freestyle Zone with a free box of sidewalk chalk for the first 150 participants, live entertainment from local musicians, a roaming magician, free face painting and craft activities on Broadway.

There is no cost to participate or attend this event, including parking! Free parking is available for the first 200 contestants and spectators at the convenient 150 York Street Garage from 11am-6pm. Show your parking ticket from the garage to the staff at The Shops at Yale tent on Broadway Island during the event for a free validation stamp.

Win great prizes:

The Grand Prize is a $1,000 gift card to Hull’s Art Supply and Framing, second place will receive a $500gift card to L.L.Bean and third place will receive $250 to Patagonia. First place in each People's ChoiceAwards category will receive a $100 gift card to J.Crew or Patagonia, second place in each category will receive a $50 gift card to a restaurant at The Shops at Yale, and third place will receive a $25 gift card toAshley’s Ice Cream.

Enjoy live music from local musicians during the event on Broadway Island and outside of the YaleUniversity Art Gallery.
