New Haven Chef Starts High-End Private Dining Service
A chef's new venture offers dining on a private island, starting at $1,000 per person.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A chef with years of experience in the business has started a high-end service offering meals on a private island, The New Haven Register reported. Chef Ray Gennaro started working in the family business at age 12, when he became a line cook at the former New Haven restaurant, Gennaro's Ristorante D'Amalfi.
His father gifted him Christina’s Café in New Haven after he graduated from college, and since then he has worked in a variety of restaurants including the Waverly Inn in Chester, La Foresta Restaurant in Killingworth, and Consiglio’s Restaurant in New Haven.
His new venture involves cooking anything his clients desire using ingredients that are "only the finest things." Clients, which have included people in the music and car industries, go to an island off Long Island where Gennaro prepares the meals with prices starting at $1,000 per person, according to The Register.
