New Haven Cracks Down On Dirt Bikes With Hefty Fines

The city has adopted new policies on how to deal with illegal dirt bike and ATV use.

NEW HAVEN, CT — The city is cracking down on the frequent hazard of illegal dirt bike and ATV use by issuing higher fines, The New Haven Register reported. The new ordinance will fine those caught by up to $2,000.

Mayor Justin Elicker said he constantly receives complaints about this and that people should be able to safely walk around their neighborhoods. Dirt bikes and ATVs are currently banned for use on city streets and sidewalks, according to The Register.
