New Haven Man Shot Ex-Wife While Mother-in-Law, Baby Slept: PD
He was apprehended hours later after fleeing the scene, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A man who shot his 31-year-old wife was apprehended quickly by officers, according to police.
Police were dispatched to a Dixwell Avenue domestic dispute at 1:29 a.m. Friday, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
The woman told police her estranged husband, Tyrell Brown, 31, of New Haven shot her during an argument. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of her non-life threatening injury.

"Brown allegedly took the victim’s cell phone and fled the apartment, in the victim’s car, after the shooting," Hartman said. "The victim’s mother and three month old daughter were at home during the assault but were sleeping."
The victim's car was found by officers at Fitch and Crescent streets at 4:20 a.m. and Brown was taken into custody. He was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, criminal possession of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm.
