New Haven Drug Dealer Accused Of Selling Deadly Heroin To Shelton Woman: Cops

The woman died of an overdose on Thursday.

SHELTON, CT — A 26-year-old New Haven man was arrested Friday after police said he allegedly sold heroin to a 34-year-old Shelton woman who died of an overdose.

The victim was discovered deceased in her home on Thursday, and in the subsequent investigation by Shelton police detectives they learned that the woman recently purchased heroin from the suspect in New Haven.

"On 04/28/17 Shelton Detectives were able to make contact with the suspected drug dealer, who agreed to meet up under the impression of selling heroin," wrote Shelton Police Det. Christopher Nugent in a statement. "Officers set up surveillance in the downtown Shelton area and took Corey Senior, age 26, of New Haven, who was in possession of narcotics, into custody. Senior removed a large amount of crack cocaine and heroin from his buttock region at the time of his arrest."

Senior was charged with:

  • Two counts of illegal possession
  • Illegal possession with intent to sell
  • Illegal possession with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school zone

"The investigation into the suspected heroin overdose is ongoing with [additional] arrests expected."

Senior is currently being held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
