NEW HAVEN, CT — It was smooth sailing for Mayor Justin M. Elicker in Tuesday's election where he faced off against Republican John A. Carlson, the first GOP mayoral candidate in more than a decade. And Democrats overall took every race from alder to clerk.

Though the results weren't unofficially official until just before noon Wednesday.

After technical difficulties stalled the release of Connecticut's Nov. 2 municipal election results Tuesday night into early Wednesday, the Secretary of State's public reporting site was up and running.
