New Haven Homicide Investigated

A man was struck by gunfire in a vehicle that was also occupied by a child, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 28-year-old man struck by gunfire has died and police have now launched a homicide investigation.

Jordan Agnew of New Haven was struck by gunfire Thursday morning in the area of Osborn Avenue and Blake Street, said Capt. Anthony Duff, police spokesman. Agnew was found lying in the street outside his vehicle. His vehicle had been struck by gunfire, but a child in a rear car seat wasn't injured.

Agnew was rushed to the hospital, but succumbed to his wounds.
