New Haven Homicide Victim Likely Targeted: PD
Police believe Tuesday's homicide wasn't a robbery and the victim was specifically targeted.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Police have determined that the homicide of a 21-year-old city man and a stolen vehicle case aren't connected.
An afternoon shooting left Muhanad Jawad dead Tuesday afternoon at a Ferry Street smoke shop.
"Based on evidence and surveillance, detectives believe Jawad was targeted by his murderer. Robbery was not his motive," said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman. "At the time of his death, Jawad had several criminal cases pending including firearm theft, assault on a police officer and charges he was dealing drugs."
