New Haven Man, 26, Guilty of Repeatedly Raping Girl Under Age 13, Jury Finds: State's Attorney
According to evidence presented at his trial, Luis Silva sexually assaulted the child again and again: State's Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr.
NEW HAVEN, CT—A 26-year-old New Haven man was convicted of first-degree sexual assault by a Superior Court jury, New Haven Judicial District State’s Attorney John P. Doyle, Jr. said.
Last Thursday, Doyle said the jury also found Luis Silva guilty of risk of injury to a child.
Silva will be sentenced June 5.

According to evidence introduced at the trial, presided over by Judge Maria del Pilar Gonzalez, Silva "sexually assaulted the victim repeatedly while she was under the age of 13," Doyle said.
Investigated by the New Haven Police Department, Doyle praised the work of Detective Christopher Boyle and SVU Police K-9 Sunny, Detective Samantha Romano, and Sergeant Cherelle Carr of the NHPD Special Victims Unit.

Assistant State’s Attorney Thomas J. Finnucan prosecuted the case, with assistance from Inspector Jeffrey Cortes and Victim Advocate Johanna Krebbs.
