New Haven Man, 29, Fatally Stabbed Monday Night: Police

New Haven police major crimes detectives are investigating after the fatal stabbing on Whalley Ave. around 9:30 Monday night, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 29-year-old New Haven man was stabbed to death Monday night, police said.

At around 9:30 p.m., New Haven police got a 911 call that a person had been stabbed on Whalley Avenue, between Whittlesey and Osborn avenues, according to police spokesperson Officer Scott Shumway. When cops got there, they found the man who'd been stabbed. He was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital, where he died from his injuries, Shumway said.

Detectives from the New Haven police Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.
