New Haven Man, 36, Shot On Thompson Street Thursday Night: PD

Around 6:30 p.m. between Dixwell and Shelton avenues, shots rang out, prompting a call to police. The man struck is in stable condition.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A 36-year-old New Haven man was shot on Thompson Street early Thursday night, police said.

Just before 6:30 p.m., police got a call about a shooting on Thompson between Dixwell and Shelton avenues, according to New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway.

The man is listed in stable condition at Yale New Haven Hospital, Shumway said.

New Haven police investigators found "ballistic evidence," on Thompson Street, Shumway said. Police detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.

Police ask that any witnesses who have not yet spoken with investigators contact the New Haven Police Department Investigative Services Division at 203-946-6304.
