New Haven Man Already Banned From Sears Steals $1,800K Worth Of Goods: Milford Police

Police say the man was arrested on larceny charges last month and has been charged again.

MILFORD, CT — A New Haven man is accused of stealing $1,800 worth of merchandise from Sears, Milford police said. On August 15, officers responded to Sears, 1201 Boston Post Road on a report of a shoplifter in custody, police said.

Investigation led to the arrest of Robert Hallett, 47, of Congress Avenue, who is accused of taking more than $1,800 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it, police said. Further investigation showed Hallett to have been arrested for shoplifting at Sears in July 2017 and banned indefinitely from the store, police said.

He is charged with fourth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass. He was given a court date of Sept. 12.
