New Haven Man Charged With Home Invasion: Milford PD

The accuseds are being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond. The victim used social media to get the word out to a friend who called police.

MILFORD, CT — Four people are accused of breaking into a Milford home in an effort to collect a debt, police said. Two arrests have been made and they are both being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

On Dec. 26 at 12:10 a.m. Milford Police Department responded to a report of a threatening with a firearm at a West Main Street residence, police said. Milford Police had received the complaint via a third party who had been notified of the incident via a Social Media messenger account, police said.

Officers found an unwanted male and female in the residence with the victim, police said. Officers spoke with the victim, who told them at 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 25 three males and one female entered his home without his permission in an attempt to collect a debt that was owed to the female, Cassandra Vitale, 26, of Savin Avenue in West Haven, police said.

One of the males, Sean Artis, 32, of Arner Street in New Haven, told the victim he had a gun and if the victim tried to contact the police he would kill him, police said.

The victim was able to send a message through the Social Media messenger account to a friend about the incident, and the friend was able to contact police, police said. The two other males had
left the residence prior to police arrival, investigation will continue.

Artis is accused of being in possession of a facsimile firearm, BB gun, which was recovered
from his jacket. Artis and Vitale are also accused of being in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Vitale is charged with:

Artis and Vitale were both held on a $200,000 bond to appear in Milford Court on December
26, 2018.
