New Haven Man Enters Plea In Drugs, Weapons Case
A New Haven man is facing prison time in a federal case.
NEW HAVEN, CT — A city man pleaded guilty to weapons and drug distribution charges, according to a statement from federal prosecutors. Kevin McFarlane, aka "Jabari McBurn" and "Dexter Creque," 41, pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base (“crack”) and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
According to the statement, McFarlane possessed a loaded Glock model 43 9mm semiautomatic handgun and approximately 97 grams of crack cocaine on July 8, 2018. The firearm had been reported stolen in Florida.
McFarlane has previously been convicted in Connecticut in 2004 for sale of a hallucinogen/narcotic and a 2007 conviction in Florida for second-degree murder.
