New Haven Man Sentenced In Firearms Case

A convicted felon was sentenced for illegal possession of firearms.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A city man was sentenced to 21 months in prison and three years' supervised release for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Edward Lugo, 38, was found in possession of a 9mm Kel-Tec Model P-11 pistol, an AR-style pistol with no serial number, and more than 100 rounds of assorted ammunition in a bust last year, according to a statement from prosecutors.

Lugo’s criminal history includes felony convictions in Connecticut and New York for firearm, weapon, drug, larceny, and possession of stolen property offenses.

Prosecutors said Lugo violated federal law as previously convicted felons are barred from possessing a firearm or ammunition that has moved in interstate or foreign commerce.
